What should I know about Effexor?
• At the beginning of the treatment course the number of thoughts about suicide may enlarge and and the level of behaviour can be high, especialy if you are 18 or less. Consult with your doctor. Taking Effexor should be under doctor supervision in case depression symptoms or throughts about suicide will increase during the first weeks of treatment or if the dose of medicine has changed. Besides, your own control of symptoms, your family or foster parents should be aware about any slight changes of your mood or symptoms. A regular visit to a doctor is a must, at least first 12 weeks during your treatment.
• In case you have any of the following side effects you should turn to doctor, especially if these symptoms are worsen: changes in mood, anxiety, panic attacks, sleep disturbance, irritation, agitation, aggression, high restlessness, maniac syndrome (mental and/or physical hyperactivity) or thoughts about suicide or self-maiming.
• Do not stop taking the medication without consultation with a doctor. Four weeks or more of treatment are necessary in order to receive the effect from treatment, besides sudden refuse of taking medicine can cause unwanted side effects.
What is effexor?
• Effexor is referred to a class of antidepressants. Effexor influence unbalanced chemicals of cerebrum that cause depression or qualm.
• Effexor is used for depression treatment, panic disorders, generalized qualm and social qual (social phobias).
• Effexor can be used for other purposes, that does not mentioned here.
What should I tell the doctor before taking Effexor?
• Before taking the drug one should tell the doctor if he takes inhibitors monoamin oxidase (monoamin oxidase inhibitors), like isocarboxazide (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate) or phenelivne (Nardil) during the last 14 days. It is proven, taking these drugs with Effexor can cause to serious side effects and sometimes fatal consequances; do not take Effexor if you are taking any of the enumerated above drugs.
• Before taking Effexor, tell your doctor if you have:
• Live disease;
• Kidney disease;
• High pressure;
• Spasmus or epilepsy;
• Bipolar disorders (maniacal depression)
• Bipolar disorders or suicide cases ever happened in your family or
• Thoughts about suicide
• You are not allowed taking Efexxor if you suffer fro any of the enumarated above disesaes, or you may be prescribed special dose of medicine and regular doctor supervision.
• Effexor is referred to C category according to the FDA classification, pregnant women should avoid taking it. But still, it is no clear whether it can cause negative influence on the fetus. Do not take Effexor without consultation with a doctor, if you are pregnant or you feel that you are pregnant during the treatment course.
Effexor gets into the breats milk and can cause harmful effect on the child during breastfeeding. If you are breatfeeding mother do not take Effexor without consultation with your doctor.
